IPIP-300 - Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your download, installation, access, and use of IPIP-300, a personality self-assessment mobile application and related services operated by Omu Labs Limited. These Terms include provisions intended to work together with the Apple App Store Standard End User License Agreement where applicable.
A. Agreement Relationship
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your download, installation, access, and use of the IPIP-300 mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Omu Labs Limited (“Developer”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By accessing or using IPIP-300, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should immediately discontinue use of the Service.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your download, installation, access, and use of the IPIP-300 mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Omu Labs Limited (“Developer”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). The Service may be distributed through third-party platforms, including the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Your download and use of the App may also be subject to the applicable terms, conditions, and usage rules of those platforms. For users who download IPIP-300 through the Apple App Store, these Terms are intended to supplement, and not replace, Apple’s applicable terms, including the Apple Media Services Terms and Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement where applicable.

We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or update any aspect of the Service at any time without prior notice.

IPIP-300 is an independent, unofficial app created by Omu Labs Limited. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP) project, its maintainers, Dr. John A. Johnson (author of the IPIP-NEO-300 inventory), Dr. Lewis R. Goldberg, or the publishers of any commercial personality inventory, including the NEO PI-R. “IPIP”, “IPIP-NEO”, and “IPIP-NEO-300” refer to a publicly available, open personality item pool and associated inventories; we make no claim of exclusive ownership over the underlying items, and our scoring, translations, session design, and interpretive content are not official outputs of, and have not been reviewed or approved by, the IPIP project or its maintainers.

Scores, percentiles, written interpretations, and any AI-generated insights must not be used or relied upon to make employment, hiring, promotion, clinical, legal, financial, or other significant decisions about yourself or any other person. If you have concerns about your mental health or well-being, please consult a qualified professional.

G. Accounts Are Optional
Core assessment functionality — answering items, tracking progress, offline scoring, and viewing your report — does not require creating an account or signing in. An account (via email, Apple Sign-In, or Google Sign-In) is required only to use the optional “AI Insights” feature and the optional cloud backup of your score results described below. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

Unless you choose to enable the optional cloud backup feature described below, this data exists only on your device, and we are not able to back it up, recover it, transfer it, or restore it on your behalf if you delete the App, reset your device, switch devices, or otherwise lose access to your device.

J. Content and Intellectual Property
All item translations, session structure, scoring methodology, interpretation copy, mascot artwork (“Alano”), illustrations, branding, software, source code, and other content made available through the Service (“Content”) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The Content is provided for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, scrape, redistribute, sell, commercially exploit, or create derivative databases from the Content without our prior written permission.

AI-generated insights are produced automatically, may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation, and are provided for reflective, non-diagnostic purposes only. You should not treat AI Insights as professional advice of any kind.

We are not responsible for interruptions, outages, errors, delays, quality issues, policy changes, or data handling practices caused by third-party services, and we may change providers at any time without prior notice.

N. Self-Report and Norm Data
Percentile and norm-based interpretations rely on published third-party normative data and on demographic information (such as age and biological sex) that you may optionally and voluntarily provide; this information is always skippable. We do not guarantee the accuracy, currency, or applicability of any norm-based result to your individual circumstances. All results are self-report based and reflect how you rated yourself at the time of the assessment.

If you downloaded IPIP-300 from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply: (1) these Terms are between you and Omu Labs Limited, not Apple; (2) Apple is not responsible for the App or its content; (3) we, not Apple, are responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the App, except where applicable law requires otherwise; (4) Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the App; (5) to the extent any warranty exists under applicable law that cannot be disclaimed, Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, of the App, and Apple will have no further warranty obligation to the maximum extent permitted by law; (6) we, not Apple, are responsible for addressing claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, legal compliance claims, consumer protection claims, or intellectual property claims; and (7) Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary where applicable.
